Drop-In Activities 

The Thornton Active Adult Center (AAC) offers a wide variety of special interest activities throughout the week on a drop-in basis. Feel free to stop in and check them out, there's sure to be something that interests you.

BINGO

​The fun starts at 10 a.m. every Friday (ongoing) and the 1st and 4th Wednesdays of the month. Prizes will depend on the number of players. 25 cents a card, or five for $1.

CARDS & GAMES

Gather to play a variety of games Tuesdays at 1p.m at The Active Adult Center or Thursdays at 1p.m at the Trail Winds Active Adult Wing.  Have a game you want to share? Bring it along and introduce others to the fun!

BEAN BAG BASEBALL
Grab your friends for this competitive game of accuracy.  No "base running" required!  Activity is held the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m.  
BRIDGE
Thursdays from 12:30-3:30pm at the Active Adult Center.
PINOCHLE

​Join this lively group for an afternoon of pinochle.  Never played? That's okay, someone at the table will teach you!  Meet at the Trails Winds Active Adult Wings on Mondays at 1p.m. to play.

RUMMIKUB

​Free game day at the Trail Winds Active Adult Wings on Wednesdays at 1.pm.

INDOOR BOCCE BALL
Learn to play this inclusive and competitive game indoors!  Last Friday of the month at 1pm in the Fitness Studios.  
BUNCO
Join us for this dice game on the 4th Monday of each month at 1:00 p.m. at the Active Adult Center or the 2nd Monday at 1:00 p.m at the Trail Winds Active Adult Wing.
WOOD CARVERS
Come and join the "Thornton Wood Chippers" every Monday morning. Bring your wood and trusty knife. We've got friendly folks with whittling wisdom who will show you how to create a masterpiece. Mondays from 9-11 a.m.
WOOD SHOP, POTTERY & CERAMICS STUDIO
Mixed use space. You must be enrolled in a current pottery class or ceramics class to use the open lab days.

Wood Shop: Tools are available for use when classroom is not in use, a release form must be completed prior to use. Users must also have valid city of Thornton ID card.
THORNTON STRINGS
& THINGS

Do you play a musical instrument or sing?  Want to dust off the old guitar and play a few chords?  Join us for our weekly musician meet-up group. Bring your instrument and learn some new songs. Fridays at 1pm at the Active Adult Center.
YESTERYEARS
SINGERS

This talented music group performs around the community in nursing homes, other senior centers and such. Most of their songs are from the 1920s, 30s and 40s, hence the name "Yesteryears Singers." Practices are held on the 1st & 3rd Mondays at 9:30 a.m. except summer months. Call Pat McIntyre at 303-427-4134 if you are interested in singing, or for booking information.
