Thornton Dance Program Summer Showcase  I  Harley Brown Amphitheater
The Thornton Dance teams and recreational dance classes from tiny dancers to teens, will be performing their Spring Showcases throughout the entire day.

Skate Park Competition Series  I  Carpenter Park Skate Park
This is a part of a three competition series for 2022. Scores are cumulative and overall winners will be announced at HarvestFest on Saturday, October 1. Helmets are required. If a participant is under age 18, the waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian. Waivers are available in the right hand menu on this page for your convenience. We are also accepting early registrations at both Carpenter Recreation Center, 11151 Colorado Blvd. and Trail Winds Recreation Center, 13495 Holly St. Registration fee is $5 for one event and $10 for the series of three events when you register for the entire series by June 1!

First in the Series  I  Carpenter Park Skate Park, 3498 E. 112th Ave.  I  8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Second in the Series  I  Trail Winds Skate Park, 13385 Holly St.  I  Saturday, August 6  I  8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Third in the Series  I  Thomas J. Slocum Memorial Skate Park, 2141 E. 95th Ave.  I  Harvest Fest, Saturday, October 1  I  8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Three skill levels in each division!
BIKES Warm-up: 8:30 a.m.  I  Competition: 9-11 a.m.
SCOOTERS Warm-up: 11:30 a.m.  I  Competition: 12-2 p.m.
SKATEBOARDS Warm-up: 2:30 p.m.  I  Competition: 3-5 p.m.

Carpenter Park Carousel

Enjoy a free ride on Thornton's historical carousel from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. All riders must be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone. Riders under 42 inches must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. 


Mile Hi Cruisers Car Show

Once again this year, Thorntonfest will host a huge display of classic and custom cars on the northwest side of the field for the public to enjoy. All special-interest cars are invited to take part. Check-in for participants will be held from 8-10 a.m. Our entry form can be found in the right hand menu of this page.


Paw Fest

This venue on the southwest side of the field is specially designed for all the animal lovers out there. Here you will find pet-related information, products, entertainment and shopping. We will even have a food truck just for your furry friends! Be sure to stop by the Creature Feature venue to hear about and see some creepy-crawly creatures. We even have an off-leash dog park available so that your furry family member can stretch their legs and take part in a social interaction too.

Water is available for your pet at stations throughout the festival, but please come prepared with enough water for your own pet.

After 25 years of partnership with a local veterinarian, Low Cost Pet Vaccinations at Thorntonfest will no longer be offered. Low cost pet vaccinations are offered several times throughout the year at Riverdale Animal Shelter along with several other local organizations.

Colorado Disc Dogs

The Colorado Disc Dogs are a Frisbee dog club based in the Rocky Mountains. They run competitions, put on shows, provide training for people interested in training their dog to play Frisbee and generally have a good time.

Saturday  I  8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.   I   1-4 p.m.

Sunday  I  8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.  I  1-3 p.m.  All other Thorntonfest activities are held Saturday, June 8 only.


The Marketplace
Experience some great shopping venues provided by participating craft exhibitors, home businesses and other various vendors as well as discover an array of exhibits from local businesses and nonprofit organizations.


Marketplace Main Stage
Be sure to stop by and enjoy the many live performances at the Marketplace Main Stage at the east end of the Food Court. Grab a snack and a drink and pull up a seat to enjoy many of the Denver Metro Area's finest musical entertainers.

Thornton Police Canine Demonstrations
Stop by this venue located to the east of the City Services Tent. This exhibition is hosted by the Thornton Police Department where you can learn about the training required for K9's and their handlers to help keep our community safe.

Ax Throwing
Try the sport of ax throwing in a safe and controlled environment. Kids are more than welcome to come throw! Under 16 requires a parent/guardian present and we reserve the right to say no-no if a minor is not strong enough to throw an axe in a safe manner.


Aerial Aura
Be amazed by this aerial circus out of Colorado Springs that specialize in aerial performances such as trapeze, straps, silks and hoop.

Retro Arcade
Have some fun playing retro video games in this climate-controlled trailer. A definite throwback to the days of real arcades in the 80s and 90s! Must purchase a wristband to play.


Food Court
A variety of foods for a variety of tastes. The Thorntonfest Food Court can be found along the north side of the event field. Sit, relax and enjoy your meal in the picnic area located just outside of the food court.


Beer Gardens
Adults age 21 and over are invited to the Beer Gardens located on the east and west ends of the Food Court! You must show a valid ID to make a purchase.


Thornton Infrastructure Touch-A-Truck
Ever wonder what makes our trash trucks tick? Staff from Thornton's Infrastructure Team will have equipment on-site and they invite you to sit in the driver's seat and explore some of the vehicles that serve our community. Be sure to stop by on the south side of the Marketplace.


Kids Korner
Follow the laughter and the screams of delight on the east side of Carpenter Park Fields where it comes alive with fun activities geared-to-children, including inflatables, mini-train, bungee trampoline, climbing wall, face painting and vendors geared-towards the child in all of us! Many of the activities are FREE, however, some require a small charge.


Diverse Abilities Area
Come learn about opportunities to volunteer or participate with Move United, Special Olympics Colorado and Thornton's Adaptive & Inclusive Recreation (AIR) program. Stay and play! Lawn games will be available.

BirdieBall Inflatable Golf Targets
FORE! Be sure to stop by this fun skills-related venue on the southeast end of the festival site to test your aim and your drive! No worries if you have never picked up a golf club, staff from Thorncreek Golf Course will be onsite to give beginners tips on your grip and your swing.

Ninja Warrior Course

Come to the east end of the event and test your Ninja skills on our 120 foot long Ninja Warrior Course! There are two lanes, one with easier, kid-friendly obstacles and the other lane will offer more of a challenge for the more advanced Ninjas. Cost is $5 for one attempt or $10 for unlimited attempts.

Highland Games
Join us on the east end of the field as members of the Rocky Mountain Scottish Athletes conduct demonstrations of traditional Highland Games events. Be prepared to be amazed by events such as the caber toss, tug-o-war, hammer throw and shot put. Each demonstration will conclude with an interactive piece so that you can test your own strength.

Neighborhood Movies in the Park sponsored by Brother's Plumbing, Heating & Electric and Cane's
After a fun-filled day at Thorntonfest, what a better way to wind down with your family, neighbors and friends then by enjoying a Neighborhood Movie in Carpenter Park! Bring your blanket, lawn chairs and your favorite movie snacks and enjoy games, a family friendly movie and a beautiful evening with your friends from Thornton Parks, Recreation & Community Programs! There is no charge to participate in this event. 

Activities begin at 7 p.m.  I  Movie (Luca) begins at dusk.
