WINTERFEST HIGHLIGHTS

SANTA CLAUS ARRIVES  |  DECEMBER 9 AT 6:30 P.M.  |  SANTA'S VILLAGE

Santa will arrive in the heart of Santa’s Village on the Carpenter Park Fields, where he will assist the Thornton Mayor and City Council Members with flipping the switch to turn on the Village’s holiday lights.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA  |  DECEMBER 10 FROM 7:30-10:30 A.M.  |  ACTIVE ADULT CENTER

Before heading to WinterFest, bring your children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors to enjoy breakfast with Santa. Breakfast will include pancakes, ham, eggs, orange juice and coffee. The breakfast will cost $5 for ages 13-61 and $3 for ages 0-12 and 62+. Sponsored by the 55+ Organization.

Printed photos taken with Santa will be available for $3 each.

HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE  |  DECEMBER 10 FROM 10 A.M.-4 P.M.  |  SANTA'S VILLAGE EVENT TENT

During the day on Saturday, the Village’s Event Tent will magically transform into the Village Holiday Marketplace which will feature a variety of vendors selling items perfect for your holiday gift-giving needs.

THORNTON COMMUNITY BAND HOLIDAY CONCERT  |  DECEMBER 10 FROM 7-8:30 P.M.  |  SANTA'S VILLAGE EVENT TENT

Reserved seat tickets ($2 each) will be available in advance at the Carpenter Recreation Center front desk beginning November 28. Tickets will also be available at the WinterFest North Pole Visitors Center until 6 p.m. Saturday evening and at the door until 7 p.m. The reserved ticket seating area will be in the front half of the tent and will be roped off until 15 minutes after the concert starts (7:15 p.m.), at which time ALL remaining seats will be available to general admission attendees at no charge.

Be sure to stop by Santa’s house to see the “jolly man in red!” Santa Claus will be waiting to hear all boys’ and girls’ Christmas wishes and Christmas lists. Don't forget your camera as photo services will no longer be available.

In an effort to reduce the amount of time your group spends in line waiting to see Santa, we will hand out PLACEHOLDER CARDS for the Santa line while supplies last. This card allows you to enjoy the festival and identifies a time for you to return to the line. Please plan accordingly. Once we hand out all of the placeholder cards, the line will be closed for the evening. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

SENSORY-FRIENDLY SANTA

Enjoy a sensory-friendly visit with Santa, reserved for families who have difficulty visiting Santa due to a disability or diverse sensory, physical, or behavioral needs. The space will be a quiet setting, your family will not have to wait in line and we are indoors! You'll have the chance to relax for a while if you choose and enjoy festive activities and a treat.

The rink requires the use of ice skates, which will be available at the skate shack, or you may bring your own. The fee for ice skating will be $2 for children (12 and under) and seniors (60 and over) and $3 for those 13-59 years old.

ICE-CARVING DEMONSTRATIONS

Professional ice-carving demonstrations will be provided throughout the weekend by members of “Dazzling Ice.” The sculptors will be completing a frozen surprise that will provide a fun holiday photo opportunity. Don’t forget to bring your cameras!

Playing on Friday, December 9-Sunday, December 11.

NORTH POLE NIBBLES

A variety of food vendors will be selling snacks and lunch or dinner items, including hot chocolate, hot cider, kettle corn, pizza, sandwiches and more!
