Thornton Functional Plans - Master & Strategic Plans
Master plans serve as more detailed, functional documents designed to
supplement specific topics addressed in the Thornton Comprehensive Plan such as transportation, housing,
or parks and open space.
Policy Planning partners with other City departments
to prepare these plans by helping to set goals and long-term policy, and providing information such as population estimates and future land use
designations. These plans seek to articulate the goals
set by the Comprehensive Plan and provide more detailed implementation
strategies and responsibilities.
Master plans are approved by City
Council and are generally reviewed, revised, and/or rewritten about every 5
years.
