  Through the TPD Online Reporting System, you can report non-violent crimes such as damaged property, lost property, theft, forgery, identity theft or theft from a vehicle and should only be reported if the crime is not an emergency, is not traffic related, occurred within Thornton city limits, there are no known suspects, is not a violent crime and no physical evidence was left by the suspect.

  Call the non-emergency number when police, fire, and animal control services are needed, but there is no urgency or emergency in the situation. Fitting circumstances could be non-violent crimes, deceased animals in the road, or vandalism with no suspect information.

Thornton City Council Member Kathy Henson Appointed to NLC Council on Youth, Education, and Families

THORNTON, CO… Kathy Henson, Thornton City Council Member, has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2023 Council on Youth, Education and Families (YEF) for a one-year term. Henson will develop and guide programs among local elected officials from similar communities.

The YEF Council is composed of local elected officials, such as Henson, as well as youth members and representatives from major national organizations concerned about children and families to provide guidance, support, and advocacy ensuring that city leaders are equipped to address the complex challenges facing their communities. “I am honored to participate in essential work the Council on Youth Education and Families does to address the needs of children, youth and families in our city and across the nation,” says Henson. “Their commitment to include young leaders in this work is critical to growing the leaders of tomorrow, and I look forward to being part of that mission.”
