THORNTON, CO… Thornton’s Thorncreek Golf Course, 13555 Washington St., saw its best financial four-month period, May – August, with a five percent increase. This comes after the course closed in late 2016, reopening in July 2018 and underwent extensive renovations. “Those renovations are really paying off,” says Thorncreek Golf Professional Chris Swinhart. “The course is in great condition, and residents are really making us a big part of their recreation landscape.”
Swinhart points to revenue of $882,779, for the same four months in 2016, before the renovation project. Revenue for the same May-August period for 2018 was
$1,283,682, and those months in 2019 saw a five-percent increase. “It’s the best four months since the golf course opened in 1994,” says Swinhart. He credits “the course upgrades, the food at the new restaurant, the beautiful new patio, and the fact that we’ve added a lot more events for all ages. We’re really proud of this.”
New events and programs at Thorncreek include:
• Junior Golf. This program saw 525 participants in 2019.
• Sub Regional Drive, Chip and Putt
