Medicare Assistance

These classes are FREE and targeted to those new to Medicare or for those about to join. Consumers will be given information to make informed decisions on what plans will be best for you. 

  • Medicare Counseling - Trained Benefits in Action Volunteers will assist you with your Medicare issues.
  • Medicare 101 - Medicare classes are provided by Benefits in Action Counselors.  Information is provided about Medicare enrollment, benefits, and costs. You may also cover what and how Medicare pays, choices under Medicare plans, how they work and prescription drug coverage.

Meal Program Transportation

The Active Adult Center provides free transportation for Thornton residents who are no longer able to drive and do not have access to transportation from a family member.  Door to door service is provided on an accessible bus.  Reservations for transportation are made a month in advance.  If you are interested in utilizing this program, please contact Marisol Lang at 720-977-5858 or marisol.lang@thorntonco.gov.
