Community Walk- Century Middle School-Lee Lateral (Heritage Trail) to Eastlake Nature Preserve (approximately 5 miles)

9 a.m.

On Saturday, November 2, we will meet at Century Middle school track, 13000 Lafayette Street, Thornton, CO on the south side of the school. The route will be a 5 mile loop around Eastlake Nature Preserve and back to Century Middle School. We will begin at the Century Middle school track and head east on the Farmers Highline Canal which switches over to the Lee Lateral Trail (Heritage Trail) once you cross York. We will continue on this trail east to Colorado Blvd, then we will head south to 128th and turn back west along 128th to Lake Village IV Park where we will cross 128th to south and then around East Lake Nature Preserve, we will continue around the preserve and come back through Lake Village IV Park along the same trail and back to Century middle school.  

   

We will depart promptly at 9 a.m. so please don't be late.  Please remember to dress for the cooler weather and wear comfortable shoes.

This is a monthly fitness program designed to help you develop or maintain a consistent fitness program.  City of Thornton Recreation Staff will lead the walk each month.  These treks will be of varying distances and will explore the many different trails around the community.  Come alone or bring your spouse, your neighbors, your children and/or your dog.  This is an opportunity to pursue your fitness goals, meet some new people and enjoy the trails of Thornton.
