Swimming Lesson Information
The City of Thornton is excited to bring you its Learn to Swim Program. This
structure was implemented in an effort to provide participants with a logical
progression in their efforts to learn to swim. In the event
that you are unsure of the level of your child, please call 720-977-5907 to set
up a water test with a certified instructor.
Parents are responsible for signing up their child/children in the appropriate level each session. Your child will not automatically be put into the next level if he/she passes.

NEW! FREE Third Grade Swim Lessons Ages 8-9 - Cancelled due to Covid-19
As part of an effort to keep all children safe around the water, we are proud to offer going into third grade the opportunity to enroll into our free third grade swim session. This swim program includes four, 40-minute swim lessons. Swim lessons include floating, stroke development, treading and water safety.
Adult Beginner Swim Lessons - Summer Sessions Cancelled
These lessons are offered in a small group setting. Skills learned in the beginner class include comfort in the water, independence, breathing, floating, gliding, kicking and basic stroke technique. There are no requirements for the beginner class! Let us help you reach your goals, it's never too late! We offer lessons Monday and Wednesday, 8:35-9:15 p.m., in a discreet environment in which adults may learn to swim when the pool is closed to the general public. New! Adult Advanced Beginner Swim Lessons - Summer Sessions Cancelled
These lessons for adults who are looking to learn and practice front and back swim strokes with rhythmic breathing, comfort and treading water. We will work on comfort in depth of 5 feet or greater, building up swim endurance, jump recovery's and to meet whatever goals you have! Prerequisites: Ability to put face comfortably in the water, kick, float and move in the water independently.
