The facility amenities are available seven days a week during the hours listed below. It would be appreciated if all guests complete their recreation activities with ample time to shower, change and check-out prior to the closing hour.

All leisure pool features including lazy river will be utilized during all open swim hours.
Slide and spray features are available upon request after 1 p.m.

Open to all individuals 13 years or older. Children 5 years and under are not allowed in the hot tub. Youth 6-12 years must be accompanied by a guardian.

​Family Annual Pass Cost of the pass is computed as follows: the most expensive family member pays 100 percent of the Individual Annual Pass fee; each additional family member pays 50 percent of the Individual Annual Pass fee. Must reside at the same residence, do not need to be related.​ ​ ​ ​ ​


Ongoing Monthly Auto Debit
 
For your convenience, ongoing month-to-month individual or family passes may be paid by auto debit. You pay the first month up front and additional monthly payments will automatically be deducted from your checking account or credit card. If the deduction is from a checking account, please provide a voided check. 

If the deduction is from a credit/debit card, please make sure that we have your up-to-date credit/debit card information on file. If you cancel before the end of the first 12 months of the contract, there will be a $25 cancellation fee. 

Military Discount Any active member of the United States military, their spouse and minor children will receive a 25% discount on recreation center admission fees. You must present current military ID to receive this discount.

Amenities

The 87,287 square foot Trail Winds Recreation Center offers the following amenities:

• Aquatics
Consists of a 4-lane lap pool; an Activity Pool that includes, zero depth entry, slides, lazy river and spray features and a Wellness Pool that is designed for patrons needing warmer temperatures for therapeutic necessity. Activities are limited to mild exercise, stretching, walking and relaxing. 

• Hot Tub
The coed hot tub is located on the pool deck.

• Swimming Party Rooms
Rooms right off the pool area for small birthday parties. Reservation includes kitchenette, tables and chairs. Currently taking reservations for parties to be held after January 1, 2020. Call 303-538-PARK (7275) to reserve.

• Family Changing Rooms
Features six private changing areas with showers to accommodate families/parents with small children and patrons with disabilities.

• Conditioning Center
This area includes free weights, circuit machines, cardiovascular equipment, TRX equipment and HIIT.

• Gymnasium
A large hardwood floor which may be divided into three small courts of volleyball, basketball and/or pickleball.

• Running/Walking Track
The track has soft, synthetic surface for running or walking; 12 laps = 1 mile.

• Studio 1 Group Exercise
Large fitness room dedicated to specific fitness classes equipped with TRX and Wellbeats™ options.

• Studio 2 Cycling/Mind & Body
A dedicated cycle room is equipped with 16 Stages® bikes and a Wellbeats™ option.

• Studio 3 Dance
Specifically created for Thornton Dance Program, this room is equipped with a premium triple layer resilient sprung dance floor with seamless Marley, an internal sound system, freestanding dance bars and mirrors.

• Climbing Wall
 5-6 person, 25’ rock climbing structure.  

• Outdoor Fitness Garden
Functional fitness equipment condusive to high intensity interval training.

• Child Care 
Dedicated child care room with access to indoor and outdoor playgrounds for drop-in babysitting for facility guests.

• Multipurpose Room
A large meeting/activity room with a warming kitchen, performance platform, terrace and the capability of being divided into three smaller private rooms, each with a kitchenette and AV options.

• Active Adults
Equipped with a separate entrance and lobby, this area offers a variety of 62+ services and programs in addition to enrichment offerings for those 18+.  

Dog Park Relocation

During construction of the new recreation center, an interim dog park was re-located west of the Lee Lateral Ditch and south of the Adams 12 Veteran's Memorial Aquatic Center (VMAC) for public use until the permanent dog park can be constructed and is safely accessible to the public. Planning for the new and permanent dog park to be located just west of the new Trail Winds Recreation Center (click Dog Park Relocation Map below) is in progress. Construction is planned for late fall/winter 2019.  Please feel free to contact Suzann Cox at suzann.cox@cityofthornton.net or 303-255-7834 for dog park information.
