The city of Thornton offers a variety of classes and programs designed to expand learning and help keep children active and moving.
We offer two family fitness programs.
JumpBunch provides great exercise, but in a structured format that introduces a wide variety of sports, and builds coordination, balance and confidence. Each class includes warm-ups, floor exercises, the sport activity of the week, stretching, then cool down.
The city of Thornton offers a one week youth triathlon clinic that will teach youth the fundamentals of the sport of Triathlon. On the final day the triathletes will participate in the Thornton Triple T Triathlon.
Hunter Safety internet conclusion course. Students complete a portion of the course online at their convenience. This MUST be completed BEFORE the classroom portion. Spend 5 hours in the classroom followed by live firing exercise. We will cover Colorado laws and regulations, have hands-on exercises and end with a written test. All classes will be held at the Carpenter Recreation Center, Fees: $10R/NR All classes are held on Sunday.

Leaping and Learning Ages 3-6
January 8 - June 6
Delightful Discovery classes include projects, activities and exploration of a unique topic in each area.
Dance Variety Exploration students explore creative movement, ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop and lyrical. Includes costume and participation in the performance on December.
Interested in having more time to accomplish personal tasks while expanding your child's knowledge base? Enroll your child in both Delightful Discoveries and Dance. Our staff will walk the children between classes and you will receive a $10 tuition discount! No class November 27.

Gallery On The Go!
Please join Gallery On The Go for a fun Canvas Painting session where you will follow your Gallery Guide's easy step-by-step instructions for you to paint a fun-themed piece of original artwork on 11x14 canvas. All art supplies are included. NO art smarts are needed. Only requirement is you come ready to have a good time. A small snack will be provided but please feel free to bring your own sack dinner.

Little Medical School
Kids love to dress up and play doctor. Our programs encourages children to do this as they explore the exciting world of medicine and different careers in healthcare. Using interactive demonstrations, role-playing, crafts, and games, kids learn how the body and organs work and how to perform tasks that real medical professionals do. Parents are invited to attend a mini-graduation ceremony at the end of each program. This program is taught by a contractual instructor who plans the program based upon the number of students registered 48 hours prior to the start of the program. Therefore, we cannot grant refund, credit, or transfer requests after 48 hours prior tot he start of the class. Thank you for your understanding.
Sports Medicine (Ages 6 - 10)
Come explore the exciting world of sports medicine with Little Medical School! With your white coat and reflex hammer, learn how doctors do an assessment for sports injuries. learn about common problems from playing sports such as sprains, strains and athlete's foot and how to diagnosis and treat them. See what it is like to be an orthopedic surgeon and perform Tommmy John Surgery. Make a model of the hand and see how the tendons and ligaments work and what can go wrong. Fee: $94R/NR

Little Dental School (Ages 6-10)
How many teeth do babies have? Kids? Adults? Have you ever had a cavity? Root canal? Braces? X-rays? Come learn the answers to these questions and other cool dental procedures. Enjoy coloring parts of the tooth like enamel, dentin, pulp, and gums. Prepare and fill a tooth cavity! We provide a model of a mouth to experiment on and there are plenty of games, activities, and worksheets along the way. Fee: $94R/NR

Spanish Immersion for Children
In this eight week course, Language World native-speaking and bilingual teachers lead the kids through adventure-filled lessons that combines storytelling, music, movement, art and dramatic play, to teach kids to understand and ultimately speak new languages.
