2026 Music Series - Playground Ensemble

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with Denver-based Playground Ensemble's performance of Gabriela Ortiz’s ceremonial Altar de Muertos. This theatrical string quartet features water drums, traditional ankle rattles, and masks made by local Mexican artist, Josefina Calzada. Enjoy music and refreshments surrounded by Denver artist Cal Duran’s debut exhibition, “Muertos: A Journey of Life and Death as One”. Attendees are invited to honor loved ones by bringing photos to place on the ofrenda before the show.
