Stage 1 Drought Restrictions Are in Effect.
Dry winter conditions have led to historically low snowpack in Colorado, the lowest recorded in the last 20 years.
Visit ThorntonWater.com/drought for more details on the Stage 1 Drought Restrictions.
Thornton Water customers are asked to help protect our precious water resources by limiting their water use:
- Wait to turn on sprinkler systems until May 1.
- Trees, shrubs, and garden beds may be watered as needed by hand, drip irrigation, or deep-root watering.
- Limit outdoor lawn or turf watering to no more than two days per week. At this time, customers may choose their two watering days.
- Don't water outdoors between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Monitor water use in the WaterSmart portal to quickly identify and fix leaks.
Together, we can weather the drought by making small changes to our water use every day.
The Infrastructure Department provides the necessary and essential services that traditional public water/utility systems, as well as public works, offer under one organizational structure.
Thornton is committed to providing dependable and sustainable water resources for our customers to enjoy -- now and in the future. We proudly provide quality water services, from protecting water sources to distributing water to homes and businesses. While Thornton collects wastewater, it does not own or operate a wastewater treatment plant.
Are you worried about the water pressure at your home? Submit a My Thornton Service Request, and a field test will be scheduled within 24 to 48 hours.
