Rules that Apply to All Thornton Pools
All swimmers must shower before entering the pool area.
Children five years and younger are NOT allowed in the hot tub.
Everyone wishing to enter the pool must pay admission fees. Children five years and younger must be accompanied into the water by a paying guardian 14 years or older and must remain within arms reach at all times. Children 6-8 years must be accompanied into the pool area by someone 12 years or older.
Diving is allowed in designated areas only. No diving is allowed in water less than five feet deep.
No running, dunking or excessive horseplay. No spins, flips or going backwards from the side of the pool.
No glass is allowed in the pool area or locker rooms.
No smoking, vaping, food, gum or candy allowed in the pool area or locker rooms. Water is permitted in the pool area. No alcohol or other beverages allowed.
Instructions of the lifeguard must be obeyed. If they see unsafe actions, they will address it, even if the action is not listed here.
For the safety of yourself and others please DO NOT use the pool or hot tub if you have a cold, diarrhea, excessive sunburn or unhealed abrasions.
All swimmers must wear appropriate swim attire. Swim diapers are required for all toddlers and must be checked and changed often. Inappropriate swimwear such as street clothes and cut-off shorts will not be permitted.
Adult Lap time is for individuals 15 years and older. Those under the age of 15 must apply for approval to swim during Adult Lap times by contacting an Aquatics Specialist.
No under water breath holding is allowed at any time.
Adults may NOT use the slide with their children or catch children at the bottom of the slides.
Youth ages 6-17 must be in a floatation tube while in the Lazy River.
Toys are permitted at the discretion of the manager on duty. Footballs are not allowed.

Drop-In Sunday through Friday. Maximum of 40 guests.

The Carpenter Recreation Center has one court available to reserve on a first-come, first-served basis. The court is scheduled on the half hour and normal drop-in, punch card or pass fees apply when you come in to use the court. Reservations are accepted beginning three days in advance of the day you wish to use the courts; for example, starting Monday at 5 a.m. you may reserve courts through Thursday. Two, one-hour reservations will be accepted per call. Racquets and goggles are available at the front desk for check out with an ID and balls are available for purchase only. If you need to cancel, please call at least two hours prior to the reservation. We will hold the reservation for 10 minutes after the scheduled time for no-shows. After that, the court will be re-opened for reservation.
The indoor track is located on the third level and is accessible by stairs or elevator. Walkers and slow joggers to the inside, runners to the outside. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised on the track at all times. The track has a soft, synthetic surface for running or walking; 12 laps = 1 mile.
A variety of walking trails are available in Carpenter Park. Several signs are located throughout the park that contain a list of color coded trails and their lengths.
Fees
Resident Discount applies when a Recreation ID is presented. In the event a person does not have a Recreation ID and/or does not wish to purchase one, they will be charged the Nonresident fee, regardless of residency.

Family Annual Pass
Do you have a large household? Save with our Family Pass! Most expensive family member pays 100% of the individual pass fee; each additional family member pays 50% of the individual pass fee. Must reside at the same residence, do not need to be related. Both payment options listed below are available for the Family Pass.

For your convenience, ongoing month-to-month individual or family passes are paid through auto debit. You pay the first month up front and the additional monthly payments will be automatically deducted from your credit/debit card so please make sure that we have your up-to-date credit/debit information on file. Military Discount
Any veteran or active member of the United States military, their spouse and minor children will receive a 50% discount on recreation center admission fees. This discount applies to daily drop-in fees and all recreation center admission passes and punch cards. A free membership is available to any disabled military veteran with at least a 50% disability. You must present a current military ID to receive either of these discounts.
Parks Pass Program
Formerly known as the Reduced Rate Program, this program allows qualifying residents to receive 50% off recreation programs, resident IDs and daily admission to our recreation centers. To apply, please visit goCOT.net/assistanceapp.
