Carpenter Park

1. Life vests are required. 
2. Children under 30 lbs. NOT allowed on the boat.
3. All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Children shorter than 55 inches may have difficulty paddling.
4. If patrons bring their own life jackets, they must be weight/size appropriate. Staff must be able to verify that they are Coast Guard-approved Type III vests.
5. No private boats, floating devices or motorized vehicles.
6. No swimming or wading.
7. No glass containers.
8. No food or drink.
9. No dogs. (service dogs allowed)
10. No one under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
11. No horseplay or disruptive behavior.
12. The boathouse may be closed due to inclement weather.
13. When the horn is sounded, all boats must return to the dock immediately.
14. The City of Thornton is not responsible for lost, stolen or personal damaged items.

1. All riders must be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone. Riders under 42 inches must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. 
2. Supervising adults of children under 42 inches must stand next to the animal and hold onto the child. 
3. All riders must have a token. 
4. Only one (1) rider per animal. 
5. No riding backwards, side saddle or standing on an animal. 
6. Hold onto pole with both hands. 
7. No changing seats or walking on the carousel during operation. 
8. No food, drinks, gum, balloons or smoking on the carousel. 
9. No bare feet or wet clothing allowed on the carousel. 
10. Do not hang personal belongings on the animals. 
11. Please remain seated until the carousel comes to a complete stop. Do not jump on or off the moving carousel.
12. Do not run, push, shove or throw anything from or towards the carousel. 
13. Maximum weight for riding animals is 250 lbs. 
14. Every passenger must exit the carousel after each ride.

Rental Information
Reservations are taken at the Carpenter Recreation Center or Call 303-255-7800.

Additional Information
Fees: $25 per hour for residents/$35 per hour for non-residents. Maximum capacity is 25 people. Rentals only available during times when the boathouse is open.

East Pavilion
This pavilion has 5 picnic tables that will seat 40 people with a max capacity of 50. Handicap accessible. Gas grills are allowed on the cement areas only. No charcoal grills allowed. There are 2 electrical outlets for use. Tennis courts, sand volleyball, bocceball, horseshoes, basketball and shuffleboard are all in close proximity. Please bring your own equipment. There is a playground, carousel, walking trails and paddleboats within walking distance.

West Pavilion
This pavilion has 13 picnic tables that will seat 100 people. Handicap accessible. Gas grills are allowed on the cement areas only. No charcoal grills allowed. There are 3 electrical outlets for use. Tennis courts, sand volleyball, bocceball, horseshoes, basketball and shuffleboard are all in close proximity. Please bring your own equipment. There is a playground, carousel, walking trails and paddleboats within walking distance.

Rentals are all-day from April 1 - October 31.

Alcohol
Beer is permitted WITH an alcohol permit. Fees are $25 per permit, $100 deposit. Two weeks will be needed to process your permit. No glass bottles.

Amplified Sound
If any amplified sound or DJ is used, BOTH pavilions must be rented and a noise permit must be obtained. (There is NO charge.) Five days are needed to process this permit.

Guidelines
*The water is chemically treated; please do not drink the water. *Bicycles, skateboards and other wheeled devices are not permitted on the spray pad. *No animals allowed on or near the spray pad. *Children who are not toilet-trained must wear plastic pants or a swim diaper and must be checked or changed often. Changing tables are located in the boathouse restrooms. *In the event of severe weather, do not use the spraypad and seek shelter. *Tables at the sprayground are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
