Upcoming Board of Adjustment Meeting Cancelled
Meetings are held in person at the City of Thornton City Hall Council Chambers located at 9500 Civic Center Drive or you can attend public meetings virtually using Zoom Meetings unless otherwise stated (virtual meeting Information below).
- Planning Commission meetings are held at 6:00 PM on the first and third Tuesday of each month unless otherwise stated.
- Board of Adjustment meetings will be held on an as needed basis, and will take place immediately after any regularly scheduled Planning Commission meetings or at 6:00 PM if not Planning Commission Meetings are scheduled.
Approved schedule adjustments for the 2025 that don't fall on the first and third Tuesday of each month are listed below.

Information packets for all meetings are posted the Friday prior to the scheduled Hearing date.
Planning Commission Information
Planning Commission is responsible for holding public hearings to receive testimony on applications for annexations, zoning amendments, classification of new uses, conceptual site plans, Comprehensive Plan amendments, and Development Permits requiring a Specific Use Permit, as outlined in Section 18-33 of the Development Code.
Board of Adjustment Information
The Board of Adjustment is responsible for holding public hearings to receive testimony on applications for variances and appeals, as outlined in Section 18-34 of the Development Code. Proponents and opponents who wish to speak at the meeting are requested to sign up, prior to the beginning of the meeting, on the register located inside the Council Chambers, and limit their remarks to three minutes.
