Karen Bigelow

Karen Bigelow is a Colorado native who grew up in Denver and moved to Thornton in 2000. She and her husband raised their three boys in and around Thornton and all three boys attended our local public schools. Karen is proud to be a military wife and mother, as her husband is a retired Army Airborne Ranger, her oldest son attends West Point Military Academy and her middle son is Army ROTC.

Karen's experience in marketing and communications in fields like healthcare, technology, banking, and start-ups will serve our community well. She currently manages Corporate Social Responsibility for Premier Members Credit Union where she works to give back to the communities they serve. She is proud to work closely in the areas of financial literacy and sustainability.

Karen has always been a community advocate, volunteering to serve on committees and actively fundraising for multiple non-profits. She is currently on the board of the Rocky Mountain Partnership and a government sub-committee for the Governor's Task Force for People with Disabilities. She volunteers with many nonprofits on committees as well, and will be working as council member on Adams County Regional Economic Partnership and I-25 Coalition.

Karen is committed to serving each and every resident in our city, advocating for what they need and making sure their voices are heard. Karen will work to provide open communication to our residents and make sure that everything in local politics is accessible and transparent.
