Thornton Veterans Memorial Past, Present and Future
The Thornton Veterans Memorial began as a community project to honor veterans and show appreciation for the service and sacrifices they and their families have made for this nation.
The memorial is a place where all veterans and all branches of the military service will be honored. Quiet reflection can take place, learning can happen and special ceremonies can be held to honor our nation’s veterans.
The Thornton Veterans Memorial is located in Thornton’s Trail Winds Park adjacent to the Adams 12 Five Star School Veterans Memorial Aquatics Center, 5310 E. 136th Ave., Thornton, CO 80602.
Veterans Memorial Project
The completion of the pentagon, flag poles, star and memorial paver bricks took place in August 2010. Soon after completion, local artist Christopher Romero generously donated Grace, a nearly four-foot tall statue of a winged angel releasing a dove with dog tags. Benches for each branch of the military and the five-sided obelisk were completed in October 2012. Educational boards were then attached to the canted surfaces of the pentagon. Each of the five boards focuses on a branch of service and its history, as well as a ‘Did you know’ feature that educates the public with little known facts about our nation and our veterans.
Purchasing a paver brick is a great way to thank our veterans for all they have done.
All paver bricks will be a part of the walkways at the memorial and will serve as a perpetual reminder of how much the contributions of veterans means to this country and to you. Purchase them for yourself or for friends and family as a memorable gift.

Location of Your Brick
At your request, we will do our best to place your brick in your choice of one of the five sections of the memorial corresponding to a specific branch of military service. Please indicate the branch you desire when completing your order form.
Please note that due to design/space limitations, it may not be possible to honor all requests, although we will try our best to do so.
