Solar for residents!
We launched the Solar Switch program to help you understand your solar options and save money. Through a partnership with the nonprofit Solar United Neighbors, the City of Thornton is launching Solar Switch: a group buying program for solar installations. Solar Switch offers residents a hassle-free way to install high-quality solar panels and optional battery storage for a competitive price.
It is free to register online at SolarSwitch.com/Thornton, and there is no obligation to purchase solar. Using group buying and the expertise of nonprofit Solar United Neighbors, Solar Switch ensures that participants get a great deal, and provides the information needed to make an informed decision. Participants can access free webinars on the process of going solar, as well as installer webinars after the auction has taken place. To learn more, visit SolarSwitch.com/Webinars. Solar Switch is expected to save the average household an estimated $5,293 on a solar installation.
How does Solar Switch work?
Solar Switch organizes groups of residents who are interested in going solar, together. By
organizing a group purchase for solar panels, Solar Switch can get a better deal for everyone in
the group.
- Registration
Sign up online today. It comes at no cost, and there are no obligations. - Auction
Pre-vetted installers participate in an auction. The best bid wins. - Personal recommendation
Based on your registration details, you'll get a personal recommendation. - Make Your Decision: Once you get the offer, you can decide if you want to accept and proceed with a site survey. If you choose to accept, you will be asked to pay a small deposit towards the full cost of your solar installation.
- Installation: If you accept your recommendation, Solar Switch will transfer you to the installer that won the auction. The installer will contact you for a survey and set an installation date. The survey will verify your roof's suitability and result in a final offer.
