Landscape Architecture

For development projects, the landscape plans required with the different types of submittals vary from general to specific. See Current Planning & Zoning for when each type is required.

The Conceptual Site Plan (CSP) establishes the required percentage of landscape area square footage and the appropriate landscape buffers.  Plant material symbols without labels are shown to suggest the concept for the landscaping on the project.

The Major Development Permit and Minor Development Permit (DP and MDP) require final detailed landscape plans that become public record of the required landscaping.

Irrigation System Construction Drawings are required with the second submittal of the Civil Construction Drawings for the project and are reviewed separately by the Landscape Architects.

The plans for Neighborhood Parks to be maintained by the City or Metropolitan Districts are submitted as separate Park Construction Drawings and contain detailed landscaping, irrigation and park element details.  Smaller Tot Lots maintained by Homeowners Associations are reviewed with the DP or MDP for the project.

Homeowners with questions about existing landscaping, contact the City Landscape Architect.
