The City of Thornton continues to monitor very closely the national response to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and will be following guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) as well as State and local guidance.
The Court building is open to the public.

SECURITY SCREENING AND PROHIBITED ITEMS
All persons and visitors having business with the Court shall pass through the front door and must go through the walk-through Magnetometer and their property or belongings shall be passed through the x-ray machine for the purpose of detection of weapons of any nature or any other item prohibited by law, regulation or court order from introduction into this facility by Court Security Personnel or access to the building will be denied. Only bring items that you need that are relevant to your business with the Court. Many items are not permitted inside the building. AT NO TIME WILL UNAUTHORIZED ITEMS BE HELD AT SCREENING STATIONS OR LEFT WITH SECURITY.
Unauthorized items (if not deemed illegal) can be taken back to your vehicle. If you choose to not return unauthorized items to your vehicle, items will be confiscated as unauthorized property and will not be returned to the owner. Please reference Judicial Order 1995-1 regarding Court Security Screening.
IN PERSON HEARINGS
Court hearings will be held by in person appearance on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Trials to the Court, Jury Trials, and other designated hearings (Evidentiary, Contempt of Court, Fact Finding, ID Hearing, Jury Conference, Restitution Hearing and Sentencing) are also held in-person.

REMOTE APPEARANCE – VIRTUAL HEARING
Monday the Court is hearing most cases by remote appearance. To appear by video using Zoom, you will need to have an electronic device with an internet connection. The preferred method by the Judge is the use of an iPad/tablet, laptop, smart phone or computer that has a webcam/built-in camera with sound and video.

You can join a test meeting at: https://zoom.us/test. First time users may be prompted to download the Zoom software, and should plan accordingly.
Please email the Court at TMCContact@ThorntonCO.gov to provide your citation number, name, DOB, and email address to receive the hearing instructions. Please read the Advisement of Rights form located on the right hand side of this page prior to your hearing. If you are unable to participate in a virtual remote hearing, please contact the court for further instructions.
