Council Member, Ward 4 (term expires 2029)
Service has been the defining theme of Drew Morris’s life: service to country, to community, and to the people he works alongside every day.
Drew was born in California and raised in Florida in a hard-working family that valued faith, family, and the belief that opportunity comes with responsibility. He grew up learning that if you commit yourself fully, treat others with respect, and put in the work, there is very little you cannot accomplish. Those lessons shaped his lifelong desire to serve others and lead with integrity.
In 2002, Drew accepted an appointment to the United States Naval Academy, where he graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in International Relations and a minor in Russian. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Marine Corps officer, serving seven years on active duty.
During his time in the Marine Corps, Drew deployed multiple times around the world, including combat service with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines during Operation Khanjari in Afghanistan in 2009. He later served as Operations Officer and Executive Officer of Marine Corps Recruiting Station Denver, overseeing 13 recruiting offices across four states. In every role, Drew was responsible not only for mission success, but for the welfare, training, and leadership development of the Marines entrusted to him.
In 2013, Drew transitioned from military service and began a new chapter as a real estate professional and entrepreneur. Over the past 13 years, he has helped hundreds of families navigate one of the most important decisions of their lives - buying, selling, and investing in property. His work has included building a real estate team, investing in property, and launching a vacation rental management and consulting business with his wife, Bri. Across each venture, Drew has focused on long-term value, trust, and doing right by the people he serves.
Drew’s commitment to service did not end with his military career or professional work. He has consistently stepped forward to serve his community through civic involvement, participating on city boards and commissions, supporting local businesses, mentoring young people, and volunteering at community events. That love of service and community impact ultimately led him to run for, and be elected to, Thornton City Council.
As a City Councilman, Drew brings a steady, people-first approach grounded in real-world experience. His priorities include supporting small businesses, promoting smart and sustainable growth, ensuring infrastructure and public safety keep pace with development, strengthening fiscal responsibility, expanding parks and quality-of-life amenities, and improving transparency and communication between the city and residents. He believes local government works best when it is responsive, accountable, and focused on core services that help families and businesses thrive.
Drew believes public service is not about politics. It is about stewardship. Public service is about protecting and promoting opportunity for the next generation, honoring the trust residents place in their leaders, and leaving the community stronger than we found it.
