2023 Program Event Dates
Click & Haul - bulky or large item collections
Event Dates: Click & Haul collections are scheduled during the work week, depending on your address. Thornton residents can use this service to: Get rid of clutter in the garage or basement, plan a do-it-yourself room remodel, clean up the yard or storage shed, get rid of recently replaced furniture or appliances, or for a rental property cleanup!
Location: Items must be placed in an orderly fashion (stacked/bundled) at the curb by 7 a.m. the day of the scheduled collection.
Guidelines: The cost is just $65 per collection for 6 cubic yards of stuff, that would fill two normal sized pickup truck loads. More than two full pickup loads = $109 or more. Restrictions and limitations apply. The cost of service is placed on the next utility bill for payment. Furniture, appliances, mattresses/box springs, hot water heaters, fence panels, branches, remodeling debris, and evaporative coolers are eligible for pickup.
Restrictions: NO hazardous materials (i.e., flammable liquids, oil, paint, fertilizer, chemical cleaners, etc.). NO tires. NO concrete or masonry demolition (driveway concrete, wall blocks or gravel). NO televisions, computer monitors, DVD players, and other certain electronics.

Dates: Saturday, June 17, August 26, October 21
Time: 7 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Location: Republic Services Tower Landfill 19260 E. 88th Ave., Commerce City, CO 80022
Guidelines: Thornton residents may bring items/debris to the Republic Services Tower Landfill that they may not be able to dispose of through their regular trash service. One load per household. Mattresses and box springs are subject to a fee of $34 each. Proof of residency is required. Non-hazardous debris only. Pickup, cars, and small single-axle trailer loads only (less than 5 yards). All loads must be covered. Commercial loads are subject to applicable fees. No liquids, electronics, tires, car batteries, medical waste, ammunition, fireworks, or fluorescent bulbs will be accepted. Safety vests must be worn at all times and are available at the landfill for $3.
Spring Electronic Recycling Drop-off
Date: Saturday, April 29
Time: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Location: Riverdale Regional Park 9755 Henderson Road, Brighton, CO
Guidelines: Adams County residents may bring items such as laptops, DVD players, phones, printers, televisions, computer monitors, and other electronics in for recycling. Items will be recycled safely and responsibly to ensure a high level of data destruction for desktops, laptops, and other data containing equipment.
There will be a fee of $15 per vehicle for all electronics up to one TV or computer monitor. A $25 fee will be assessed for each vehicle carrying up to three TV’s and/or computer monitors.
Not accepted at the event: TV's and monitors with exposed tubes, anything that contains mercury, freon or other chemicals, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, thermostats, radioactive equipment, neon signs, alkaline batteries, light bulbs, trash, etc.

Summer Electronic Recycling Drop-off Days at Techno Rescue
Dates: Weekdays, June 19 - June 30 and Saturday, June 24
Weekday Times: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Location: Techno Rescue 3251 Lewiston St., Suite 10, Aurora, CO 80011
Guidelines: Adams County residents may drop off items such as laptops, DVD players, phones, printers, televisions, computer monitors, and other electronics in for recycling. Items will be recycled safely and responsibly to ensure a high level of data destruction for desktops, laptops, and other data containing equipment.

Location: Thornton's Infrastructure Maintenance Center (IMC) 12450 Washington Street Thornton, CO 80241 Use the north entrance, with access from 126th Avenue, east of Washington Street.
Guidelines: Thornton residents may bring their branches, limbs, and compostable material to the IMC. Proof of residency is required. Residents are responsible for unloading branches and all compost material. Any compost material placed in bags must be opened on site other than 3 gallon compostable kitchen bags. NO commercial or landscaping companies.
Dates: Saturday July 22, Wednesday July 26, & Saturday July 29
Time: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Location: Veolia Colorado Recycling Center 9131 E. 96th Ave., Henderson, CO 80640
Guidelines: Adams County residents may bring their unwanted household chemicals to the Veolia Colorado Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center. Most items will be recycled safely, keeping them out of our natural environment. Adams County residents will need to pay a discounted fee of $.99 per pound to drop off their items and the normal $20 vehicle fee will be waived on event dates only. Proof of residency is required. Credit card only will be accepted. NO cash payments.
No charge to drop off architectural paints and stains only.
Acceptable Items include: insecticide, bathroom cleaners, rust remover, photo chemicals, degreasers, weed killer, latex paint, stains, furniture polish, fire extinguishers, laundry products, fuel, solvents, rodent poison, oil filters, floor cleaners, oven cleaners, moth balls, lacquers, rechargeable batteries.
Unacceptable items include: radioactive material (smoke detectors), used needles, prescription pain killers, explosives (fireworks, ammunition), tires, trash.
Online appointment registration will be available 6 weeks prior to event days.
Fall Leaf Drop-offs
Dates: Saturday, October 28 & November 4
Time: 8 a.m. - noon
Location: Thornton's Infrastructure Maintenance Center (IMC) 12450 Washington Street Thornton, CO 80241 Use the north entrance, with access from 126th Avenue, east of Washington Street.
Guidelines: Thornton residents may bring in leaves for composting. Proof of residency is required. Residents are responsible for unloading all compost material. Leaves and compost material must be placed in BPI certified fully compostable bags, paper sacks, or be prepared to open all other bags on site. NO commercial or landscaping companies.
