NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

SPCD 2017-001

The City Council of the City of Thornton will hold a public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan which is intended to guide decision-making for future land use development.  Under consideration is the major rewrite of the Comprehensive Plan. The last extensive rewrite occurred in 2007, followed by a technical update in 2012. The plan area includes the City of Thornton incorporated area, the unincorporated Adams County area north to the County Line, west to I-25, east to the South Platte River(south of E-470) and east to Yosemite Street (north of E-470) plus a small portion east of the South Platte River south of East 108th Avenue alignment, as well as portions of E-470 and the Hammer Pit. Seven sections located in Weld County are also included in the project boundary. These are Section 25, Township 1 North, Range 68 West of the 6th Principle Meridian, and Sections 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, Township 1 North, Range 67 West of the 6th Principle Meridian. 

This hearing will be held on October 8, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon as possible thereafter, at the Thornton City Hall in the Council Chambers, 9500 Civic Center Drive, Thornton, Colorado 80229.  City Council will take formal action on the Draft Comprehensive Plan at this meeting.

Development Permits and Appeals Board

The Development Permits and Appeals Board of the City of Thornton will conduct a public hearing concerning a Development Permit for a portion of Tract D1, Stargate Charter School Subdivision, Amendment No. 1.  The applicant is proposing the development of a fueling station and convenience store.

The subject property is located at the northeast corner of E. 144th Avenue and Washington Street.

This hearing will be held on October 15, 2019 at 6 p.m. at the Thornton City Hall in the Council Chambers, 9500 Civic Center Drive, Thornton, Colorado.
