  Through the TPD Online Reporting System, you can report non-violent crimes such as damaged property, lost property, theft, forgery, identity theft or theft from a vehicle and should only be reported if the crime is not an emergency, is not traffic related, occurred within Thornton city limits, there are no known suspects, is not a violent crime and no physical evidence was left by the suspect.

The Thornton Comprehensive Plan and Thornton's Future

We have an overall vision of how the city will grow, and how it will continue to address the needs of its citizens. it's called the Thornton Comprehensive Plan, and it has many moving parts.

The Thornton Comprehensive Plan is an overall vision of how the city will grow and how it will continue to address the needs of its citizens. The most recent update was adopted by City Council on September 11, 2012.

The Plan is comprised of 1) an overall document that sets a vision for the city, and 2) a number of Strategic Master Plans and Area Plans that detail how this vision will be achieved. Responsibilities for these "subplans" are distributed throughout many City Divisions. However, oversight for the majority of the plans falls to the Policy Planning Division, which is charged with planning for long-range growth and housing in the City.
